Quiltathons and Stay At Home Retreats

Lots of fellow quilters out there quilting their little hearts out. And what am I doing? Decluttering. I am pretty certain I will have a new job that will take me out of town during the week so I am trying to get my house in order in such an event. Friday I had 4 lawn size trash bags full of junk and then some odds and ends put out for the trash man. Maybe a kitchen bag. After today there are at least 5 lawn size trash bags, 4 or 5 kitchen size trash bags and boxes sitting on my driveway awaiting the next pickup. There will be more and my trashman will be cussing my name!

I am going to try to get a little sewing in tomorrow as I think I need a break. We will see what the morning brings.

Don't worry, you weren't along Swooze, I didn't get much quilt making done, but made 8 NT prayer bears for the kids who were in the Australian bush fires, my two girls helped me cut them out and stuff them. I think it is good for them to do some community service...
Cheers

hi, since i have moved, i have been decluttering most things, this week i started on my sewing room. I gave away to my mum lots of wool to make booties for nursing home clients. i am getting my stash colour organized and putting my PHIBS into a time completion order. Yes, our trashman was cursing me, but i feel much better and can find things much easier and dont have to stuggle to find that bit of fabric when i am appliqueing.

I have been systematically decluttering. Lately, it has been the files on the computer. Early congrates on the job.

I've got to declutter my wardrobe. I told Keith I'm just going to donate 3/4 of it and then if I need to fill in some holes I will. I tend to hang on to clothing forever whether I wear it or not.

I too was in a clean out mood this weekend.... the dreaded basement got hit, hard, yesterday. and ooooh I feel so much lighter having gotten so much out of the house :-)

Congratulations on the (almost) new job! If you have to be away more, maybe you'll get some time to do hand work?

Wow, sounds like a lot of decluttering! When we had a house, I always used to wonder, on days like this, why I had kept all that stuff in the first place!
