I got a new toy. I first saw this machine on Bonnie Hunter's blog. She loves her vintage machines! This machine was made in Switzerland. Did you know I spent a college semester there? I felt a connection to this cute little machine.
I have been watching these on eBay. This one popped up and had its little accessory box. There are no extra feet but I can worry about that later. Right now I need to learn to set it up and use it.
This machines case folds out into a table. There is a part that needs to fold somehow so it lies flat. Once I get that I will need to thread it and give her a test drive. Except for the frayed electrical cord she's in great shape.
Here are some pics.
More later!
How exciting, two new machines in one month! LOL. Count down 3 days!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had my mother's first machine after she got married in the 1950.
have fun with your new toy!! I do not collect machines like some of you do - I have a hard enough time remembering how to work the two that I have that work and the featherweight when it does work! I really need to get that one fixed.
ReplyDeleteWow! How old is that Elna? I've never heard of a grasshopper before. (I admit I don't read Bonnie H's blog all the time.) I have 30 year old Elna as my travel machine. It weighs about 18 pounds if I remember from when I put her on the scale. Now to remember where to oil her! I've lost the directions. Sigh.
