I went to sew at the church last night with my buddies. Since I found my corners for this quilt I decided I would get that quilt top going again. I put a quick call into my friend to borrow her featherweight since mine hasn't been unearthed yet.
Sewed on the corners then went about cutting the borders. The fabric is a patterned stripe that runs lengthwise. I looked and measured an fiddled a little bit. Then I consulted with some of my sewing buddies and set to cutting. I got all the borders cut and decided that I would sew them on later. Well that got me into trouble the last time so I went ahead and attached them. I have to press the borders and then miter the corners. Everyone was packing up to leave at this point so that WILL have to be done later. At least I know exactly where the iron and board is!
Is barefoot sewing universal? Anyone recognize that other set of toes?

I think barefoot sewing is universal... esp if you have an old Singer or a Featherweight with the button to depress with your big toe!
:)
Of course, if one tends to drop a lot of pins on the floor, one may prefer to wear shoes...
I know! I know!
I try to sew with shoes, especially in the winter, but now I just take my shoes off when I walk into the studio. And, great to see you sewing, even with a borrowed machine.
very nice swooze, and perhaps barefoot sewing comes with the quilting gene, not sure, but it is a must with featherweights. i sew that way with the old viking too, though; but in winter with socks on...LOL
Nope, always sew with shoes on!
glen: glad you are sewing again! It feels soooooo good!
Love the quilt...I sew barefooted!
Your quilt looks good on the bed...so pretty. At least my toes were done! And to think I loaned you my charger just so you could take a picture of our feet!!!
Yes, I always sew without my shoes no matter what machine I'm working on!
Looks great! Hahaha, I'm not the hugest fan of being barefoot though, I usually sew with socks on!!! ;)
Love the quilt and the borders! I sew bareboot most days. Welcome back to sewing.
If I'm inside my house I'm barefoot! I always sew that way.
Love the quilt, the colors are just amazing. Shoes in my sewing room - not a chance. My feet need to feel that pressure foot :)
I recognise that border flower fabric!
