Churn Dash Frenzy

On my Stashbuster group there was a Marianne Memorial Sew Along. Normally I don’t participate in sew alongs because I have plenty of things that I want to accomplish and I find that it just slows me down on those things. But not too long after they started their sew along Chookyblue started one as well for her blog readers. So I decided to jump in.

Chookyblue suggested a pattern for everyone to follow. I decided I wanted to do a red quilt so I went looking for all my reds and whites that would work together. The first thing I was surprised about was how little red fabric I had in my stash as I love red. This should not be surprising since I probably sew it up as soon as I buy it.

I decided to strip piece it because I figured that would go a little bit faster and turned a block out pretty quickly. I decided to go ahead and do a plaid one as well since I have lots of plaids.

How much longer after choosing the plaids I turned out a block of that combination as well.  I found this black to be fun, fast and easy.

I decided that I would not add borders and so what you see below are my quiltops. They are both about 60 x 80 which is my current favorite size to make.

Stay tuned as this activity spawned another quilt that I do not have a photo of.  More coming soon.  Happy quilting.
