If You Give a Mouse a Cookie...or Send Me To a Fabric Sale
I received an e-mail from the Golden D'Or announcing their big 30% off pre-inventory sale. I had pretty much talked myself out of going then relented since I needed a lot of backings for already completed quilt tops. This first pic shows the 59.25 yards that I bought. Yes that number is correct....sadly. There are 5 backings in there. Then the Halloween fabric is destined for my charity stash. Enough of that fabric type now. Wow I have a lot! There are 4 pieces in there destined for my attempt to bust all my animal prints. 24 cuts in all.
After I left Golden D'Or with Babs I went to the Mesquite Quilt Show. 2 panels and 2.5 yards of yardage that coordinates with one if the panels. Just under 4 yards here. 4 cuts in all. Plus I got that cute little tote.
The next afternoon I made my Walmart run. I noted that I needed some black for a quilt I plan to make while at Mom's and I was just too lazy to look for any in my stash. My Walmart is discontinuing their fabric department. The one I frequent in Monroe has already done so. All fabric was marked 50% off. No black cotton. I decided to look for a backing I needed and found it. 37.5 yards in total. Most of these will be used to make QOVs. 10 cuts there.
Just over 100 yards. 38 cuts in all. I am going to avoid fabric stores like the plague for awhile! I sure did have fun though!

Looks like a ton of fun to me!!
makes perfect sense, have to buy fabric in order to bust fabric, not everyone would understand but I do....LOL
OMG! Now I wish I'd gone to the show with you. The doggies are too CUTE! and I love the tote.
Where is this Walmart and did you leave any fabric left??
Hoo dawgies! It *does* look like you had a good time tho. Wish I could have been with you.
I'm going shopping with you! Then I won't feel guilty for what I buy! You made a great haul.
Okay--I'm enjoying buying vicariously thru you! Oh, the yards are racking up!

I was good and stayed home!
Certainly looks like you had a lot of fun!! Enjoy your new purchases - sounds like you bought most (if not all) with specific uses/projects in mind :)
I just read your message on "Stashbusters" and my husband cracked up! You make me look good. Thanks. LOL I'm sure you won't be needing to run to the store for fabric for a while! I want to shop with you!

I think you did great getting that many backings for so little...enjoy your new purchases!!
Looks like you had a grand time!! I like that panel with the orange, helicopters and soldiers - where did you find that one?
OH my goodness gracious girl! What a haul!
How fun!
How I wished I lived in the States and could buy fabric as easily as you do !!! We here in france jump at all the internet sales, but there is always the postage , and sadly, sometimes a lost package ... But we still do buy a lot from the US, even full price, with the postage, it comes much cheaper than buying in france !
O my gosh!!!! You went crazy!~!~! You might have to "store" some of it at my house....*wink
