Auditioning Borders

You have to work for the pictures in this post.

Quilt #1

Red, Green or Blue? Note there are two different shades so describe which one you prefer.

Quilt #2

Green?

Thoughts? Opinions?

In all cases I prefer the prints to the solids. In the first one I'm sure - green or blue, I think.

I like the green print for #1. For quilt #2, I tend to like prints for borders also, unless there will be beautiful quilting (like Feathers). Then the solid would work just fine.

I vote for the green print in #1 as there is already a lot of red and a lot of blue and the green seems to make things pop.

I'd also go with the green print for #2.

On quilt one I vote for the blue on the right.

For quilt, I would keep looking.

Of course that is just my opinion and it is hard to make a decision from a picture.

Now how political is that to take a stand and then to back away from it.VBG....

I like either of the reds for the first one the best of the choices you offer, but still...it doesn't seem *just* right. What about a black/white or brown border?

The green for #2 doesn't work for me either...

This is JMHO, but I think you'd wind up with the border color fighting with at least one color in the squares.

Swooze, I will take quilt #1 made in RED and then try a blue with that quilt quilt #2 and I will decide if I want it or not...rofl

Quilt 1 - I would vote for Blue. Seems to make the other colors in the blocks really stand out. For #2, I'm not crazy with the green (although I would normally consider myself a green girl). Somehow the green seems to just "mush" in with the grey-ish (based on the colors on my screen) borders on a couple of the blocks. So - you asked. Hope we haven't offended you with our honest opinions.

Quilt #1 I like the red solid because my grandmother had one like that! (And I like red in general - pulls together all the dominant reds in the top.) Quilt #2 - I am afraid that the green choices kind of mute the vibrancy of the colors? Not sure - maybe I'm just not in a green mood. Maybe use one of the blues from Quilt #1? You have guts to put yourself out there like this - I admire that!

I love the green. All are pretty though, can't go wrong on this one...

I love the red solid with #1, with the red print being 2nd choice, over green & blue.

Wellllll...on Quilt #1, I did not particularly care for any of the borders, LOL. You had to ask, huh? I think a white or cream simply because of the variety of colors already in the quilt.

Quilt #2 - I like the solid green, but might like a different color better.

The blocks sure are pretty though.

I think red for the first one and just because I don't tend to use solids, I'd go for the mottled. The green print didn't look bad either. For quilt two...not sure I like the green with that.

I like the blue for quilt one and the greens look good. I have such a hard time deciding on border fabrics.

I like green for #1, either one, though leaning toward the solid. For #2, the green seems to make the blocks washed out.

Usually I like green, but in this case I think the red, the one on the right. Personal choice as is all our quilting. Happy picking
