Clothes, clothes and more clothes
With my decluttering and culling I have been taking a serious look at my clothes. How much is enough? I know I have way too much. Plus with my weight loss there is quite a bit that just does not look good on me. Then there are the stained things or the washed out looking things. I need to just let them go. I want to start my new job with a nice wardrobe and I am hoping I have enough already to get started.
How are you at maintaining your clothing? How many of each item does anyone need? My opinion is more tops than bottoms as the tops give variety. Then I have to consider my laundry schedule. At home I normally do the laundry through the week. When I am in an apartment will I do the same? We shall see.
I am interested to hear your input on this topic.

great news on the job, you were indeed fortunate, it sounds, as many are out of work longer....hope all goes well!
I think I have a dozen shirts, 3 jeans, 3 capris and 2 pair of shorts. I only can do laundry once a week, so I need at least "outfits". I do rewear my jeans if I've kept them clean and haven't sweat.
Because I live where I do, when I get to town and find a pair of shorts of pants that I like, I buy 5 of that size and maybe in different colours, then I know I have clothes for the year, but I tend to buy different tops, like you to get that varied look.
cheers
I have 3 paris of dress pants, 3 pairs of jeans, 2 capris and 2 shorts. And a couple "can't wear anywhere" pants. 3 dresses that i love but can't wear till it gets warm! i've got several skirts but they are getting kinda big on me. So my bottom 1/2 is well covered but as for shirts-i've got way too many black and white ones and not nearly enough colored ones. I've got 3 nice colored tops and probably 2 dozen black and white ones. So i have more than enough shirts but i have grown to hate the black and white ones that i have to wear to work at the studio. I'm hoping to buy at least 3 more colored tops before it gets warm.
Hey, you're asking me, the person who just emptied 6 laundry baskets? I have LOTS of shirts, probably 5 pairs of jeans, 2 pairs of capris, 2 pairs of dress pants. A few dresses. Two skirts. Because we have both very hot and very cold weather, I think our wardrobes are more extensive. I think living in an apartment without handy access to your own washer/dryer would require more clothes.
I know what you mean, I have a ridiculous amount of clothes yet often feel I have nothing to wear. This is because I have clothing in three different sizes (thin, medium, and fat) for four different seasons. I do laundry when my (very big) laundry basket gets full, or when I run out of pants (that is, panties to you Americans). I don't have room to have all my clothes out at once, so twice a year I change over, and store the rest under the bed.
