Lazy Sunday Borders

Here is my Lazy Sunday quilt by Bonnie Hunter up to the first border.  It calls for a green and neutral HST border then a blue and neutral diamond border.  Here I am showing the aqua and green.  I don't think that green is doing it for me.

I am leaning toward a double diamond border with the aqua, blue and neutral.

love the colors! I always like Bonnie's patterns but yet have never made one

Um, I like the blues. The green works as the accent in the blocks but for borders? Not so attractive to my eye.

Looking at Bonnie's reveal and looking at your fabrics (assuming I am seeing them correctly in terms of value/colour on my monitor), it seems to me that the green/neutral HST border is a quiet/subtle transition point from the top to the outer darker border, so I would have thought your green would work well since you've used it in the quilt. The outer diamond border is much darker in value so should be the darker aqua you used in the quilt or something similar. The light aqua on top of the green would give a different result as it is a bright in medium value. This is assuming you want a similar result to Bonnie's of course!
